Winter can produce dry, brittle hair. No worries!! There are slight changes in your regimen that can help combat the harshness of winter weather.

1st Things First: Deep Condition

Deep conditioning is especially important in the winter because it allows moisture to penetrate the hair follicle in a manner that is not otherwise achieved with your regular conditioning process. This can be done weekly or biweekly to avoid dry hair. You can choose to deep condition with a store brought conditioner

Try one of these DIY Deep Conditioning Methods with items you may already have in your home.

2nd Apply Natural Oils

Oil becomes your best friend during this season. It turns lifeless, stiff, dry hair into a luscious wonderland. Lighter oils that can be used include: Jojoba oil, grape seed oil, and almond oil. For thicker hair, try heavier oils for sealing in moisture like castor oil, olive oil and coconut oil.

3rd Protect those Ends

-Your ends are the most fragile part of your hair. Protecting your ends can be achieved by simple tucking them in, wearing a bun of some sort, or wearing braids and twists., This essentially helps to avoid dryness on that fragile area that could eventually lead to damage or breakage. And lastly, avoid going out without your head covered.
