Isn't it so awesome and amazing how God designed & created us to have the capability of falling deeply in love with another human being?
It is such a beautiful thing to love and be loved, to be with someone who truly values and appreciates every part of your being. It's so beautiful to be with someone who sees you for who you are, knows you're not perfect and wants to help you grow to become the person God has called you to be. It's amazing to have someone by your side who protects you, provides for you, and prays for you. To have someone by your side to not just be your 'lover' but also your brother and friend, to correct you, make you laugh, stay by your side through the bad times, someone to share your deepest dreams and thoughts with, someone who challenges and inspires you to achieve the goals you've set and pursue your dreams, is one of the most best things in the world.
Yes, all of those amazing qualities can and do exist in a partner. Horrible relationships from our pasts or witnessing bad/hurtful relationships around us can sometimes make us lose hope. Our past relationships can hurt us so bad we just give up on love. In society today we hear so many women say "there are no good men out there," or "this whole falling in love thing is not for me" or the extreme "I don't ever want to get married". When we get hurt sometimes we focus so much on the pain that we allow God to heal us. When we hold on to the pain from past relationships and don't allow the necessary healing to take place we miss could miss out on the beautiful relationship God wants to bless is with! The truth is, being in love is a beautiful thing, and it's even more beautiful when it's with the right person, the person God has chosen for you. God is amazing! He created love, He IS love, and according to His word, love is everything good,
"Love is patient & kind, love in never gives up, it is always hopeful, love endures all circumstances, love is NOT selfish, rude, irritable, and love keeps no record of wrong. " (1 Corinthians :4-7)
Let us be open to love, let's not lose hope, rather have faith in our ability to give and receive love. Love is real, it's beautiful and it is good! We are all worthy of someone that would love us the way God intended it to be and because God loves us so much and knows us so well. HE WILL GIVE US NOTHING BUT HIS BEST for us.
Having a husband, fiancé, or boyfriend (according to God's will) is such a blessing and is one of God's most precious gifts to us.. So this Valentines day those blessed with with the previous gift of having a partner by your side, appreciate and celebrate that person. Aside from the chocolates and gifts take time out to truly reflect on how blessed and grateful you are to have your significant other by your side, to have the love that you do. Make the day a special one. Let go of all the negative things.. any grudges you may be holding & focus on all the good things. Be THANKFUL.
And for the single ladies, this is definitely not a day to be sad, depressed, bitter, or salty or to run back to an old relationship out of loneliness.. Be happy! Rejoice in your season of singleness, rejoice in knowing that as you trust yhe Lord to write your love story & as you wait on Him, at the right time He will give you the desires of your heart. At the right time God will make everything BEAUTIFUL!!
Some of us may be hurting this Valentines day.. Know that God is in control, and that He is More than able to heal and restore. It's my prayer that God heals the broken hearts and that He gives strength and peace that surpasses all understanding.
