When Girl Meets Curls | Naturally Kenvi

March 29, 2014 |  LOVE EMBRACE INSPIRE | When Girl Meets Curls
KENVI          My name Kenvi (IG: naturallykenvi) & I am from Houston, TX. I am a girly girl that loves shopping, natural hair & everything beauty. I am currently preparing to apply to Physical Therapy school w/ hopes of graduating & owning my own physical therapy clinic.

LEI: What made you decide to go natural?
Kenvi: I decided to go by accident. As a college undergrad, I didn't have time to keep up with my hair so I stopped getting relaxers. Once I stopped, I fell in love with my natural hair pattern. After a year without chemicals, I cut my relaxed ends off & became fully natural. That was January 2011 & I have been natural ever since.

LEI: Did you transition or BC "Big Chop"?
Kenvi: I transitioned with my hair, I was too afraid to do the big chop.

LEI: What were your fears going in and how did you overcome them?
Kenvi: I had no fears about going natural. I liked my hair, so that was all that mattered to me. I get more compliments on my hair now than I ever did while getting relaxers.

LEI: Name some reasons why you are happy about your decision
Kenvi: I am happy about my decision to get natural because of the fellowship & friendships I've gained from being natural. The love & encouragement of follow naturals is amazing. Natural hair is a movement of strong & courageous men & women. I love It!

LEI: What are some of your favorite hair products?
Kenvi: My fav hair products are virgin coconut oil, African Pride leave-in conditioner & Shea Moisture's kids shampoo & conditioner. Just to name a few.

LEI: What is your hair routine?
Kenvi: My hair routine is twisting my hair every night to retain big hair. I rarely do wash & go's.

LEI: What advice would you give someone considering going natural or who is new to being a natural?

Kenvi: Advice to new naturals: Love yourself & your hair. No ones hair is the same, embrace your hair texture & rock it!

LEI: List your social networking sites so we can connect with you further.
