Hey Everyone...I am Tiffany Nichols of Tiffany Nichols Design, and I am a  Natural Hair and Beauty Blogger/Vlogger from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  On top of being a blogger, I am also a wife, a mother, and I work full time.  Some how I have been able to jungle all of this and more while still remaining sane.  LOL!!

LEI: What made you decide to go natural?
Tiffany: I decided to return back to natural really out of curiosity.  I received my first relaxer at a very young age and really didn't know what my natural hair texture was like. So after a little over 20 years of relaxing I started doing research on natural hair and decided that I wanted to give it a try.

LEI: Did you transition or  "Big Chop"? What was that process like for you?
Tiffany: I transitioned for 9 months starting in June of 2009 and did my Big Chop in March of 2010.  The transitioning process was rather easy.  I had (3) main go to hairstyles (flexi-rod set, bantu knot outs, and a bun) that I rotated weekly, which made my styling rather seamless when it came to blending both textures of hair.

LEI: Did you have any fears or were you fearless? If so, how did you overcome your fears?
Tiffany: The day I decided to cut the rest of the relaxed ends off of my hair, I was totally FEARLESS!!! However, when my adrenaline had settled down, I thought why did I do this so soon.  I wasn't totally prepared mentally for this new hair adventure.  I wasn't sure what my boss, my family, or friends would think of my decision.  I was accustomed to having long hair and I didn't know how these 3 inches of curliness would sit with everyone.  I hid my hair for almost six months by wearing wigs and sew-in weaves. I soon developed the confidence to share my natural hair with the world and have not looked back.  I wish I would have done that sooner.

LEI: Name some reasons why you are happy about your decision?
Tiffany: I am happy with my decision to return back to natural because it has taken me on another journey in my life.  I now am able to uplift, promote, and educate other women about the beauty of natural hair.  I love the fact that I can share tips, my experiences with products and methods, I can give styling options for both women and little girls and it is helping to encourage and empower someone to stay on or begin their own natural hair journey.

LEI: What do you love most about your hair?
Tiffany: I love the freedom it has given me and confidence it has taught me. I love the freedom because it has allowed me to be able to express myself in a way that I never thought I could. I say it has taught me confidence because I now walk with authority with my head held high. I know that I look different and I stand out from the crowd, so all eyes are on me and I welcome it.

LEI: What are some of your favorite hair products?
Tiffany: Some of my favorite hair products include the following: Aussie Moist Moisturizing Conditioner, Pantene Truly Natural Hair CoWash, Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair CoWash; Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream, Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave In, Entwine Couture Exotique Butter Crème Hydrator, Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Twist & Lock Gel, Entwine Couture Creme Jelle Styler, Ecostyler Gel, Hicks Edges Pomade, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil.

LEI: What is your hair routine? My current routine is pretty simple.
Tiffany: I mainly co-wash my hair instead of using shampoo. I will co-wash at least once a week, deep condition every two weeks, and shampoo my hair maybe once every 4-6 weeks. I found that co-washing allows me to keep my hair moisturized, by not stripping my hair like shampoo does and it still gets my hair and scalp clean. My conditioner/cowashes of choice are Aussie Moist Moisturizing Conditioner, Pantene Truly Natural Hair CoWash, and Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair CoWash . When I shampoo my hair I use Creme of Nature Argan Oil Shampoo. I will first put my hair into 4 workable sections and proceed to wash my hair one section at a time. After I am finished with each section I apply my conditioner, detangle my hair and let the conditioner sit for about 10 mins. I will rinse it out one section at a time and then squeeze the excess water out. I will then use a cotton shirt to absorb any extra water. Next, I will apply my leave Kinky Curly Knot Today to each section and then I will apply my Moisturizer to my hair, Entwine Couture Exotique Butter Crème Hydrator or Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Creamto add moisture. I will then apply an oil to seal it all in. My oils of choice are either Sweet Almond, Coconut or Jojoba Oil. I will then proceed to flat-twist my hair into 8-9 flat-twists. I will let the twists sit overnight. Lastly, I untwist my hair and fluff. My hair always looks moisturized and is defined. That is my favorite go to hairstyle at the moment.  After a few days of that style, I typically put my hair into a bun.

LEI: What advice would you give someone considering going natural or who is new to being a natural?
Tiffany: I would tell them to do research about natural hair, hairstyles, products, ingredients, do's & don'ts etc...utilize the world wide web and books on such topics.  Make a decision and stick with it, going back natural is a process and you must be prepared mentally for the journey.  Lastly, be patient.  Having patience with your hair when styling and while it grows is definitely important. Good things come to those who wait!!
LEI: List your social networking sites so we can connect with you further.
