Faith & Spirit | Waiting on God In The Waiting Room....
The waiting game is one of the most challenging games in the world when your heart is set on achieving something or a promise being fulfilled in our lives. Our minds are set to desire something and we expect to get it as soon as it becomes a desire. Then LIFE kicks in and reminds us that patience is a virtue and virtues are very valuable and will cost us something.
"Virtues are the essence of our character and when we keep the practice of virtues at the heart of everyday life, we live in purpose." - Anonymous
With patience comes growth, strength, discipline, endurance and perseverance. And the best way to test a person's patience is to have them wait. Many of us who struggle with patience may find ourselves right now, in the waiting room, watching as each person is called in, and we are (what appears to be) left alone waiting to be called. This is the time of great testing because so much goes on in our minds. In the waiting room, after everyone has gotten up, we may feel as though we have been forgotten...Am I not on the list? I know I made an appointment!
Sometimes we may have to return to the waiting room after being called in. There we were told our promise, become full of excitement only to find ourselves yet again waiting, watching the clock for the promise to be fulfilled.
This is the same as waiting on God. We wait on our desire, our goal, our vision to manifest itself. Then we look to God who placed the desire in our hearts and wonder... What's taking You so long? Not realizing that His timing and His will for each and everyone of us is...PERFECT!
"There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven.
God has made everything beautiful in its own time."
Ecclesiastes 3: 1 & 11
Has God placed a desire in your heart, and promised that it will be done, yet you still have not seen it manifest? Do you realize that God is a purposeful God, meaning everything that He does has a purpose and meaning behind it? Consider the following:
1. God is testing your faith. Do you trust HIM?
2. He is developing your character.
3. He's creating purpose out of your pain.
4. He's waiting on you to let go and get out of the way.
5. He loves you unconditionally and wants to see you happy.
6. He sees what you cannot see, including your future. So timing is crucial.
7. HE CANNOT LIE! So if He said it, He will do it.
Finally, I'll leave you with some scriptures that will help you while you are awaiting your promise:
Psalms 27:14 - Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ." - Philippians 1:6
