SISTERHOOD | The Ultimate Supplement

RELATIONSHIPS | LOVE EMBRACE INSPIRE  | by Jerre Boyd

Ruth 1:16-17 -  "But Ruth replied, 'Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die, I will die and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me." - Psalm 147:3  (NIV)

As we journey throughout womanhood, we notice that our yearnings for a deeper and even firmer intimacy with Christ becomes unrelenting, our desire for a long lasting and substantial relationship increases, our passion to become a mother brews inside of us, and defining/achieving our destiny suddenly consumes our daydreams. We want it all! Some times all at once, and we're even willing to drive ourselves mad until all four of those bases are covered. A beautiful chaos for us.

But can we stop to realize that womanhood is a beautiful chaos for our sisters too? We aren't alone. Although the details in our lives may differ, our prayers and desires reflect those of our closest girlfriends (if not now, than eventually). We need to embrace sisterhood

Are you your sister's keeper?

Be the push, when she feels that she can't walk any longer. Pray for her, when her heart is feeling overwhelmed. Be her sneak-peek into the future... you have already been there, done that and visited all possible scenarios.

So will you be your sister's keeper?

We have to grow in the spirit together and hold accountable our paths, never letting go of each other's hand. We need to be each other's fear-slayer and dose (and re-dose) of reassurance when life feels tricky. And we need to love each other with unchangeable love... a thorough love... like how Ruth loved Naomi.

You are your sister's keeper.

Womanhood is a beautiful chaos and a Sisterhood is the vitamin, supplementing the growth.
